India is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country (1.3+ billion people), and the most populous democracy in the world. Indian government is a constitutional republic that represents a highly diverse population consisting of thousands of ethnic groups and likely hundreds of languages. The capital is New Delhi; other metropolitan cities include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. The country is crossed by the Indian Ocean on the south and bounded by the Arabian Sea in the southwest side and lastly by the Bay of Bengal in the southeast side.

There are 487 airports/airstrips in India, out of which 35 are international airports. India has 13 major seaports.
